Derek Hsu, MD

Biography

Dr. Derek Hsu (pronounced “Shoe”) is a board-certified dermatologist who believes in a patient-centered and evidence-based approach to patient care. Dr. Hsu has clinical interests in all aspects of the field, including medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, cosmetics, and lasers.

Procedures and conditions in which Dr. Hsu has particular interest in include skin cancer detection and surgery, cyst and lipoma excision, laser resurfacing, botox, and biologics for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Dr. Hsu did his undergraduate studies at Duke University and then attended medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Hsu then completed residency in dermatology at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Hsu has served as lead author in numerous studies and has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in the leading dermatology journals. He has also given lectures at national conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and the Society of Investigative Dermatology.

Born in Southern California, Dr. Hsu enjoys tennis, golf, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
